Our FAQs

Please find below a selection of questions that new members often ask. If you have any further questions, please reach out directly to Sarah Fisher via our form or email.

When can I visit the Cambria Choir to see if it would suit me?

We practice in term time. New people are welcome to 'drop in' to the first two sessions.

Is the Cambria Choir auditioning?

In a word, 'no'. We are a community choir with 'inclusivity' at our core. We welcome everyone as long as you have a love for music, learning and singing.

How much does the Cambria Choir cost?

The choir is £12 a session, invoiced per term. Sarah Fisher is always open to having a confidential conversation around cost should the price be a barrier; email her here.

Is the Cambria Choir made up of parts?

Yes, we are blended from the following parts: Basses, Tenors, Alto 2, Alto 1 and Sopranos.

How do I know what part I am?

It's best to attend one of our open sessions (the first two sessions of a new term) and listen to each part.

How do I know what we're singing?

You'll be sent the lyric sheets before the practices. We recommend that you print the words and mark up your part with a pencil (so that you can rub parts out should they change).

How do I stay up-to-date with the songs?

Sarah Fisher diligently sends out MP3 recordings of the previous week in an email to each member, allowing you to hear your parts and practice in time for the following week.

Do I have to attend every session?

To learn your part and be able to perform in the concerts, you should be committed to attending the sessions every week. Of course, sometimes life gets in the way (work, holidays, travel problems, family, health, etc.), but please ensure you try to make as many sessions as possible.

What time does the practice session start and end?

We arrive from 7:30 to begin at 7:45 sharp and aim to finish at 9:30 PM.

How are the sessions structured?

We arrive and sit in our 'parts, ' which is followed by stretching and a vocal warm-up, and then we begin learning the songs.?

When does the Cambria Choir perform?

We generally do a concert at the end of each term.

We are often asked to perform at local events, too; if you would like us to perform for you or your event, please email Sarah Fisher.

I would like the Cambria Choir to perform at my event; how do I go about this?

Please contact our leader, Sarah Fisher, who will happily help and hopefully accommodate your needs!

What other benefits do the Cambria Choir offer?

We are a warm, welcoming, and supportive group. We pride ourselves on having fun, learning, and making beautiful music together.

Is Station Hall Accessible?
